Dolly Parton is telling the stories behind her most unforgettable looks — “both on and off the stage” — and how her signature style has evolved over time. The beloved country music legend reflected on decades of iconic fashion moments in her new book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, available on Tuesday (October 17).
Parton shared in a statement that her newest book “tells the stories behind some of my favorite outfits, both on and off the stage. It also paints a picture of the evolution of my own personal style that I first developed growing up in the backwoods of East Tennessee. I hope this book will give you the confidence to look like and be who you want to be.”
The Rockstar artist revealed plans to release Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones earlier this year. The book chronicles Parton’s career, shares “the largest reveal of her private costume archive,” features eye-catching photos of Parton’s bold makeup and stage wear, and much more. It spans from the 1960s to today. Parton previously teased her book’s release when she revealed photos of the vibrant back cover photo (at the same time, she announced her long-awaited Pinterest debut).
