Thomas Rhett shared a sweet tribute to his “Sweetheart” with an acoustic rendition of the deep cut from his 2017 album, Life Changes. The award-winning country star posted the video on Thursday (August 31), as he reflects on career-spanning songs he wishes he would’ve released as singles. The reflection comes after Rhett has already tallied 20 No. 1 hits.
“Sweetheart” appears on Rhett’s 14-track album that also includes fan-favorites like “Craving You” with Maren Morris, “Unforgettable,” “Sixteen” and the title track, among others. Rhett recently reminisced on the Life Changes era of his career, remembering it as the first time he became a father. He and Lauren Akins, his real-life sweetheart from childhood and now his wife of more than a decade, are parents to four young girls: Willa Gray (7), Ada James (6), Lennon Love (3) and Lillie Carolina, turning 2 in November.
“Woke up this morning, to your sleepy smile/ I realized I haven't told you in a while/ That you're my life, you're my dream/ You're the reason for every song I sing/ You're my rock, your my world/ Your my always and forever girl/ Sweetheart/ God could've never made two/ Nobody quite like you/ Woah, sweetheart/ One kiss and I come unglued/ You are the reason, I fall to pieces/ Cause you're all that I adore/ You're the one my heart beats for/ And I can't believe you gave your sweet heart to me”
