Lainey Wilson shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of her “Watermelon Moonshine” music video (fittingly, on National Watermelon Day), reminiscing on young love. The award-winning country star films the story of a young, whirlwind romance on a sunny day on a breathtaking farm in Middle Tennessee.

“This song means so much to me. It’s about that young, wild, crazy love,” Wilson said on the set, located at S&T Farms in Springfield, Tennessee, located north of Nashville. “A time in my life when I felt like nothing else mattered. …This song takes me back, and especially during a busy season of my life right now, it feels good to get on stage, or (be) here, doing this music video (and) sing about something that makes me feel like I’m going back home.”

The behind-the-scenes video also captures stories and commentary from the directors, siblings Stephen and Alexa Kinigopoulos, and the stars playing one another’s first loves, Rachel Lynn Matthews and Sam Sherrod.

“I’m so excited to premiere the Watermelon Moonshine music video. This song is about the young, wild, crazy love that we all hope to experience,” Wilson said in a statement when the video premiered last month. “From locking eyes for the first time, to playing spin the bottle with an Ole Smoky mason jar, to being too crazy about each other to tame it, I am so happy with how Rachel Lynn Matthews and Sam Sherrod brought the vision to life through their portrayal of their innocently passionate characters.”

“Watermelon Moonshine” is one of the fan-favorite tracks to appear on Wilson’s smash-hit Bell Bottom Country album, which debuted in October 2022. Other highlights include “Hillbilly Hippie,” “Grease,” “Hold My Halo,” “Heart Like A Truck” and others, plus two additional tracks that appeared in Yellowstone as Wilson made her acting debut, “Smell Like Smoke” and “New Friends.”
