HARDY dropped the music video for his rock anthem “Truck Bed” on Wednesday (July 19), and knew he “had to throw a party” for this one, he wrote in a caption on Instagram. The country-rock star brought out actor King Bach, athlete Taylor Lewan and PGA pro golfer John Daly — “and a sh*t ton of legendary fans” — to film the Justin Clough-directed video.
“Truck Bed” is one of the tracks on the rock half of HARDY’s genre-blending album, the mockingbird & THE CROW, which released on January. The 17-track project fuses elements from various genres, and features collaborations with Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson and Jeremy McKinnon, among other highlights. HARDY joined forces with some of Nashville’s all-star songwriters to create the music heard on his latest full-length project.
the mockingbird & THE CROW, according to HARDY’s record label, blends HARDY’s lifestyle with some of his favorite artists that he’s listened to throughout his life, including Soundgarden, Puddle of Mudd, Pink Floyd, Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Matchbox 20 and others.
“I am extremely excited to have this record out,” HARDY said at the time. “I truly believe that this is two years of my best writing and think that it perfectly describes who I am as an artist, having grown up listening to rock ‘n roll, but also grown-up country. Thank you to everyone for the support and everybody for working so hard on bringing this record to life. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
