Dan + Shay revealed the title of their next single as they posted a teaser on Tuesday evening (July 11), shortly after they shared an emotional, in-depth video that detailed the duo’s near split.
“Save Me The Trouble,” Dan + Shay’s forthcoming single as they head into their next era of music, will release Thursday (July 13) at 11 p.m. CT, the duo — Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney — announced on their social media channels. The brief teaser shows Smyers and Mooney getting ready for a show, told by a stagehand that they have five minutes before they take the stage before a cheering crowd.
Smyers and Mooney shared a powerful video earlier this week, revealing that they were “ready to quit” music and discussed the future of the band after spending four months without speaking to one another. They both reflected on the rough patches they endured over the years, and how they moved forward and opted to continue making music. Now, Smyers says they’re closer than ever.
“We love this band. This has been our life. It matters. It matters to people and we had a responsibility and we owed it to them,” Mooney said. “It’s amazing to know now that we found that joy that we were talking about. …it’s changed our lives. I mean honestly, the process of this album completely changed our lives.”
