Keith Urban kicked off the 58th Academy of County Music Awards on Thursday (May 11) with a truly unforgettable performance, and given the show's location in Frisco, Texas, it couldn't have been more perfect.

What other song would Urban choose to get the show started in the Lone Star state than with "Texas Time," a love letter to the "place where the people smile, taking it easy." The people in Texas may take it easy, but Urban rocked out during his performance, with both real-life dancers busting a move through the crowd and virtual neon cowboys line dancing on screens behind the stage.

It's also not a Keith Urban performance without an incredible guitar solo, and he didn't disappoint, moving to a platform in the stage that gradually rose in the air as he showed off his musical skill with a cool effect that gave his voice its own guitar-like sound.

Earlier this month, Urban hit the red carpet at the Met Gala alongside wife Nicole Kidman. The "Blue Ain't Your Color" singer looked dapper in his tuxedo while the Big Little Lies star stunned in the 20-year-old gown she wore in a Baz Luhrmann-directed commercial for Chanel No. 5.

While walking up the iconic stairs at the Met, Urban shared with iHeartRadio what he listens to on his "hype playlist" to get ready for big events. Ever the charmer, he revealed that he doesn't limit himself to genres and instead said he listens to "everything ... I listen to so much stuff!"

Not only has Urban been busy giving incredible awards show performances and making appearances at the Met Gala, he is also preparing for his return to Las Vegas for his residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, which kicks off in June for an eight-show run before he returns once again in November for another stretch of performances.
