LeAnn Rimes posted a throwback clip from an early 90s performance on Star Search, taking the stage when she was 8 years old.

“back where it all began (well almost…) every time i watch this i think, ‘who is this child?!’ it was CRAZY, what a little adult i was… and not, all at the same time,” Rimes wrote in her caption on Instagram as she shared a video of the 1991 performance on Thursday evening (April 27). Instagram users gushed that the now Grammy Award-winning artist “was star right from the start with an incredible voice,” and “a natural stage presence and performer.” Others wrote nostalgic comments as they remembered watching the show back then.

Now, Rimes is known for tons of hits throughout her decades-long career, including “Blue,” “I Need You,” “One Way Ticket,” and many others. Her latest full-length album, god’s work, released in September 2022, with “spaceship,” “the only,” “the wild,” “god’s work” and other highlights throughout the 12-track project.

“After nearly three years of creating this record, I couldn’t be more excited to release god’s work out into the world. This project is more genre-bending than anything I’ve ever done before, and I have the amazing group of featured artists to thank in part for that,” Rimes at the time. “god’s work will break your heart and heal it all within the same breath. My hope for this record is that everyone connects with the music in their own unique way, discovering something new about themselves and the complexities of life in the process. This album is a reclamation of god for myself and the lowercase ‘g’ really represents the duality of this record and where humanity meets spirit.”
