Wynonna Judd is set to “tell my story in my voice,” through a powerful feature-length documentary premiering at the end of this month. Wynonna Judd: Between Hell & Hallelujah is slated to premiere on April 26.

Judd opens up about navigating the next stage of her life and career after unexpectedly losing her mother Naomi Judd, who was also her partner in the beloved mother-daughter duo, The Judds. Judd and her sister, actress Ashley Judd, announced last year that they’d lost their mother on April 30, 2022. She was 76.

Wynonna Judd: Between Hell & Hallelujah will start with Judd’s decision to move forward with “The Judds: The Final Tour,” which The Judds announced shortly before Naomi’s death. Judd opted to move forward with the nationwide tour in her mother’s honor, bringing along a star-studded list of guests: Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood. Paramount+, which will premiere the film, noted that the documentary also captures Judd’s time spent on her farm with her family as she navigates her grief after Naomi’s death. The streaming service also noted that its sister network, CMT, will premiere CMT Presents The Judds: Love Is Alive — The Final Concert on Saturday, April 29 at 8 p.m. ET. The two-hour special took place at the Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University, recreating The Judds’ show there during their farewell tour in 1991. It will feature tour mates McBryde, Carlile, Ballerini, Little Big Town and McBride.

“It’s real and it’s raw,” Judd said of the soon-to-premiere documentary in a statement on Tuesday (April 18). “It’s celebration and sadness. It’s all of the people who I leaned on during one of the toughest seasons of my life. I wanted the opportunity to tell my story in my voice. If doing so helps one person out there choose life, then I am grateful.”
