Scotty McCreery revealed that his fifth studio album is officially underway. The country star shared on his Instagram story on Monday (April 17) that the sunny morning in Nashville, Tennessee marks the first day of recording the project.
McCreery also invited his Instagram followers to “go back in time,” posting the album artwork of his previous four projects, Same Truck, Seasons Change, See You Tonight and Clear As Day. McCreery said in his caption that he’s “grown up with yall on these albums. Album 5 starts today!”
The American Idol alum, competing on and winning season 10 in 2011, released his debut studio album shortly after his victory. Since then, country music listeners have undoubtedly remembered McCreery for “It Matters To Her,” “Damn Strait,” “Five More Minutes,” “See You Tonight,” “You Time,” “Feelin’ It,” “In Between” and other career-spanning hits. Most recently, the father of one released the Same Truck deluxe edition, expanding his 12-track album into an 18-track collection in November 2022. McCreery said “we had more songs I loved ready for the original release of Same Truck than we could put on that album,” so he was “pumped” to debut a longer version.
McCreery is gearing up to join iconic country duo Brooks & Dunn on their headlining “REBOOT 2023 TOUR,” which also includes “Tennessee Orange” artist Megan Moroney. Ronnie Dunn, one half of the duo with Kix Brooks, previously said in a statement: “Unbelievable band of friends.…annnnnd YOU! Together, let’s rock the house!!”
