Morgan Evans chronicled his global travels as he marked “a poignant moment in my life,” turning the international trek into a music video that captured eight shows in seven countries. The Australian country singer-songwriter also noted that the finished product features three bicycles, two goats and one camel (whose name was “Chewbacca,” Evans previously explained as he told the story of his encounter with a camel).
Evans debuted his music video for “On My Own Again,” a post-divorce single that sees the singer moving forward with a hopeful outlook on life. The cover art is a photo that was captured on a beach on the west coast of Morocco, while Evans was on his recent European tour.
“I’m gonna drive until the wheels fall of this old truck in my heart/ If forever’s gonna end like that, I guess I’d better start/ The rest of my life, like the best time’s up around the bend/ Oh, on my own again”
“For a song documenting a poignant moment in my life, I thought it’d be appropriate to make a video the same way,” Evans wrote in an Instagram caption when the video premiered on Tuesday (April 4). “I invited the guys behind the Over For You music video, & the docuseries, on the road in Morocco, Europe, Ireland and the UK for one of the best adventures of my life so far…”
Evans released the five-part Over For You docuseries, named after the heartbreak ballad he wrote amid his divorce, earlier this year. Filmed by Peter John, the series detailed Evans’ return to Australia and the CMC Rocks QLD Festival performance where he played “Over For You” for the first time. He said when the series premiered that “when we started filming this as a tour docuseries last year, we had no idea it would end up documenting some of the most vulnerable parts of my life as an artist and a songwriter.”
“On My Own Again” followed last month. Evans previously shared that he wrote the song in November 2022, calling it “the first moment that I stopped looking in the past and really started looking toward the future.” Watch the music video here:
