The newest addition to Carrie Underwood’s family will melt your heart… The award-winning country music superstar shared a series of photos of her family’s new puppy: Charlotte “Charlie” Nilla Fisher.
Underwood, who’s currently on the second leg of her “Denim & Rhinestones Tour,” recently shared that she’d met Charlie at Pawsitive Impact NC Dog Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit rescue organization. She and her family — her husband, former NHL star Mike Fisher, and the couple’s two young sons, Isaiah and Jacob — had been on the lookout for a new pup for a while. Charlie joins the family in addition to two other dogs, Penny and Zero (who are adjusting well to having a new sister, the “Pink Champagne” artist said). Underwood wrote in a heartwarming Instagram caption as she shared adorable photos of Charlie:
“Meet Charlotte “Charlie” Nilla Fisher…newest member of the family! I met her in Charlotte when the lovely people at @pincdogrescue brought some puppies to the venue to make us all smile. We had been looking for the right pup for our family for a while and she seemed just too good to be true! She is happy at home playing with her boys…and Penny and Zero have responded well and are getting to know their new sister…Thank you, Pawsitive Impact NC Dog Rescue for all the incredible work you do and thanks for bringing this sweet girl into our lives! #rescue #adopt #shelterdog #PuppyLove”
Underwood reportedly announced her new family member to the crowd during her show in Charlotte, North Carolina (telling the concertgoers that the puppy was a surprise for Isaiah and Jacob). It apparently happened while her team addressed technical difficulties with the sound board, and Underwood talked to the audience until she was able to resume the high-energy performance. Her loyal fans didn’t seem to mind the technical mishap (and even enjoyed experiencing how Underwood connected with them in the meantime) as they relived the experience in the comments of Underwood’s Instagram post: “Charlotte was a blast last night! Thank you for being so sweet to us! Our sound board was a little tired from all the awesomeness we’ve been serving up lately and needed a reboot mid show 🤪…Thankfully, our hard working crew got it back up and running and you guys stuck with us! 💜 Thanks for making it a show we’ll never forget!”
