Carly Pearce paid a lovely tribute to the late Loretta Lynn at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday (November 9) with a performance of her track "Dear Miss Loretta."

Pearce opened her performance by honoring the late legend and praising how she wrote "unapologetically" about her life. Wearing a bejeweled long yellow gown, strumming an acoustic guitar on a backlit dark stage, Pearce harmonized alongside Ricky Skaggs and Sonya Isaacs as she sang about finally understanding "why you sang that way."

The "What He Didn't Do" singer ended her set with a passionate declaration of "We love you, Loretta!"

Lynn passed away peacefully at her Tennessee ranch on October 4 at the age of 90. Following her death, country music's biggest stars shared loving memories of the legendary musician, including Pearce. While at the Grand Ole Opry, Pearce shared a heartfelt voicemail from Lynn about "Dear Miss Loretta."

Telling the crowd that the industry "lost one of the greatest that there ever was and will be," she held her phone up to the mic as Lynn's message played, thanking Pearce for the song and telling her to "come and see me sometime."

The CMA Awards also paid tribute to the "Coal Miner's Daughter" singer, with stars like Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert performing a medley of the beloved late singer's songs from her decades-long career.
