Kelsea Ballerini couldn’t resist gushing over country music icon Garth Brooks after the two teamed up to sing one of his most beloved smash-hit songs from the ‘90s… Ballerini shared on TikTok that she has “friends in high places.”
Ballerini kicked off her rendition of “Friends In Low Places,” giving fans a few seconds of her solo cover before Brooks joined in. It happened at the 58th ASCAP Country Music Awards Reception, hosted at Soho House Nashville, Tennessee. Ballerini’s TikTok followers gushed that the clip paired a “legend with a legend🤩🤍,” and it was “so perfect” to watch them sing the fan-favorite country anthem together: “'Cause I've got friends in low places/ Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away/ And I'll be OK/ Yeah, I'm not big on social graces/ Think I'll slip on down to the oasis/ Oh, I've got friends in low places.”
The “Friends In Low Places” duet comes during prep week for the highly-anticipated 56th annual CMA Awards, set for Wednesday (November 9). Ballerini shared another behind-the-scenes glimpse with her TikTok followers on Monday night (November 7), giving a better glimpse at her stunning look: “did my own glam proud of it let’s do this cma week.”
The CMA Awards show, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, will be broadcast live from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville. It’s set to kick off at 8 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m. ET.
