Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany Aldean, teamed up for a parody newscast as they dressed as Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone for Halloween on Monday (October 31). The husband-and-wife duo — or, in this case, the “Channel 4 News Team” — poked fun at some other country hitmakers as they delivered the “completely unbiased Nashvegas news” in a clip they shared on their social media channels to celebrate the spooky holiday.
The Aldeans portrayed the characters from the 2004 comedy made famous by Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy focuses on “San Diego's top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, but that's all about to change for Ron and his cronies when an ambitious woman is hired as a new anchor.” Jason and Brittany reference Ron and Veronica’s classic banter throughout the broadcast and the credits.
The first story of the newscast came from “Luke Bryan, who was recently caught driving all the country girls crazy by eating out of a jar of peanut butter,” Jason said as Burgundy, transitioning to a clip of Bryan eating spoonfuls of peanut butter as his 2015 hit “Strip It Down” plays in the background.
“In our most unbiased story of the evening, tonight we tell the tale of a wannabe country artist and his wife, Brittany and Jason Aldean,” Brittany jested as Corningstone. “Apparently, according to Brittany’s recent tweet, she hates all animals…based on the tweet that says, ‘I love dogs.’ Sounds like a PR nightmare. …Now, most of you may not know who Brittany and Jason Aldean are, but if you like to Google, you could find them potentially on page five or six.”
Brittany read the final story of the “Breaking News” clip, sharing that Kane Brown was trending “yet again on TikTok. …They love the TikTok and they love when Kane Brown dances.”
“There you have it,” Jason concluded. “Kane, just giving me one more reason why I rarely get on TikTok. And that’s our newscast for tonight… Stay country, Nashville.”
“Yes,” Brittany added, “and stay woke, everyone.”
