Carrie Underwood (and a few other country artists) couldn’t resist taking part in one of the latest social media trends… The “Ghost Story” powerhouse shared several throwback photos in a new TikTok, encouraging her followers to “enjoy the awkwardness” as she takes part in the “Teenage Dirtbag” trend.

“As someone who was a teenager when this song was actually on the radio…enjoy the awkwardness…” Underwood captioned her Teenage Dirtbag TikTok. Underwood also shared what may be an unknown fact to many fans in light of one of the photos: “Also, I did, indeed, graduate with the black eyes (senior school trip softball mishap).”

Underwood’s fans gushed in the comments that she’s “always been gorgeous,” and hailed it “THE VIDEO I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED” as the award-winning country artist jumped on the trend. It marks one of the latest throwbacks from Underwood, who recently shared a childhood clip of herself covering “Blame It On Your Heart” by Patty Loveless. That TikTok transitions into a more recent clip of Underwood performing the same song on the Grand Ole Opry Stage.

Underwood isn’t the only country artist to share their “Teenage Dirtbag” photos. LeAnn Rimes “couldn’t resist” sharing hers in late August, and Hunter Hayes had “very little shame… some… but very little.” On Wednesday (September 7), Miranda Lambert decided why not,” sharing her “teenage dirtbag” throwbacks “Texas style.” See their “Teenage Dirtbag” TikToks below:
