Though Thomas Rhett already has a pretty full plate with his music career and family life, the “Half of Me” artist thought of another hat he’d like to wear: a chef’s hat. Rhett, an award-winning singer-songwriter, shared some possible non-musical aspirations in a statement from his record label:
“I would try to get my real estate license, and I would also love to go to culinary school. I still might one day. I love to cook so much. Like, anytime I’m at a really nice restaurant, I love getting to meet the chef, gettin’ to talk to the chef, and kinda understanding why certain things go together, and, ‘Oh, you chop like that? Let me show you how to really chop an onion.’ Or, ‘Let me show you how to really season a steak.’ Or, ‘Let me show you how to really seer something or smoke something.’ Cause the little knowledge that I have impresses my family enough, but it would be really fun to learn why. So, you can find me at culinary school maybe in the next three or four years. It would be a blast.”
Until then, Rhett is still working on his music. He’s on tour this year after releasing his latest album, Where We Started, in April. The project is the first of two albums set to release this year, followed by Country Again: Side B. Rhett, who is nearing his 10-year wedding anniversary with wife Lauren Akins, is also a father of four adorable daughters: Willa Gray (6), Ada James (5), Lennon Love (2), and Lillie Carolina, who was born in November.
