Kelsea Ballerini is still gushing over the “fairytale moment” she had when she wore Shania Twain’s gown from the 1999 GRAMMY Awards at the 15th Annual ACM Honors on Wednesday evening (August 24). Ballerini took to TikTok on Thursday (August 25), sharing the moment the tried on the iconic dress.

“OK, so tomorrow’s the ACM Honors, and I get to honor Shania Twain,” Ballerini said as she filmed her reaction to the dress the day before the event. “But what no one knows is that we have agreed to take this iconic Shania GRAMMY dress from 1999 out of the GRAMMY Museum. It’s made its way to Nashville, and if it fits, I have Shania’s permission to wear it tomorrow on the carpet.”

That’s when Ballerini excitedly unboxes the dress, and she and two friends exclaim that “it zips!,” as she tries it on for the first time.

Twain wore the dress at the 41st Annual GRAMMY Awards, where she won Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song for “You’re Still the One,” according to the GRAMMY Museum.

Ballerini looked stunning in the white gown, sharing a glimpse of each step on TikTok as she got ready for the ACM Honors. After her arrival, she changed into a different Shania-inspired wardrobe, kicking off the show with a performance of the 1990s hit, “Man! I Feel Like A Woman.” The 15th Annual ACM Honors will make its return to television with its debut on FOX, set to air on Tuesday, September 13 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, according to an Academy of Country Music press release. See the list of honorees here.
