Jason Aldean dropped another single from his massive double album, following the rock and roll cowboy’s previous “path as a slow-groove builds into a rocking anthem mixed with confidence from love-drunk memories.”

“That’s What Tequila Does” released as a new single on Friday (July 8). It follows Aldean’s massively popular “Trouble With A Heartbreak,” which was the award-winning country artist’s 27th No. 1 song, according to a press release announcing the new single. The song was written by Kurt Allison, John Edwards, Tully Kennedy and John Morgan.

“We had a chance to play this song at CMA Fest a couple weeks ago and the crowd’s reaction helped solidify this as the next single,” Aldean said, thinking back to the June festival in Nashville. “I’m looking forward to kicking things off on the road next week and I feel like this song is going to have a big moment during our set. I can’t wait to see what the fans think of it."

Aldean’s 30-track double album serves as a nod to his hometown. “That’s What Tequila Does” appears on MACON, the first installment that released in November 2021. That half of the album includes Aldean’s award-winning heartbreak power ballad with Carrie Underwood, “If I Didn’t Love You,” among other fan-favorite tracks. The second installment, GEORGIA, released in April 2022. Now, Aldean is gearing up for his “Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour,” which is set to kick off this month with Gabby Barrett, John Morgan and Dee Jay Silver. Travis TrittTracy Lawrence and Chase Rice “will be joining us for the second half of the tour as [Gabby Barrett] will be having her baby boy,” Aldean previously announced. “Let's go!”
