The Judds were gearing up to take the stage at the 2022 CMT Music Awards for the first time in years when Wynonna Judd got a word of advice from one of the genre’s most legendary artists, Loretta Lynn. Wynonna took to her social media channels on Monday afternoon (April 11) to share her “pre-show pep talk from Queen Loretta…” sharing in her caption that she “needed a little advice from the QUEEN” as she got ready for the awards show.
“Do you have any advice for me tonight on TV?” Wynonna asked with Lynn on speakerphone. Lynn answered: “Yeah, keep your drawers on,” and, through laughter, Wynonna assured her: “Well, I’ll try.”
Lynn later added in a tweet: “Well, it's good advice! I stand by it!”
Wynonna is taking the stage with her mother, Naomi Judd, at the CMT Awards hours after The Judds announced “The Final Tour” with special guest Martina McBride. The mother-daughter duo said: “We are so excited to announce The Final Tour. Can’t wait to see y’all on the road! 🎶” McBride added that she is “so beyond excited to be joining the iconic duo [The Judds] on this very special tour. Being asked personally by [Country Music Hall of Fame] members and friends, [Wynonna Judd] and [Naomi Judd], is a true honor and I feel very blessed. We are going to have some fun, that’s for sure!” See the tour dates here.
