Gearing up for the highly-anticipated 2022 CMT Music Awards, the country music hub revealed new collaborations and presenters joining the already star-studded list. Jason Aldean is set to take the stage with Bryan Adams, Jimmie Allen will perform with Monica and Little Big Town, and Thomas Rhett will sing with Riley Green. Walker Hayes is also slated to perform during the show, according to CMT’s latest announcement on Thursday (April 7).
Allen will also present that evening, along with: Gabby Barrett, Rob Corddry, Jordan Davis, Billy F. Gibbons, Gayle King, Taylor Lautner, Dustin Lynch, Martina McBride, Joel McHale, Kacey Musgraves, Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France and Antoni Porowski, LeAnn Rimes, Dylan Scott and Dennis Quaid.
Other performers in the lineup include Carrie Underwood — who is the most decorated artist in CMT history with 23 wins — Mickey Guyton with Black Pumas, Old Dominion, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson and Keith Urban. Six of “country music’s brightest up and coming stars” are also set to perform: Priscilla Block, BRELAND, Jessie James Decker, Parker McCollum, Elvie Shane and Caitlyn Smith.
The 2022 CMT Music Awards will air on April 11 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+, hosted live from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium and other locations around the city. CMT will also air an extended cut of the show with an additional 30 minutes of performances and other bonus content on April 15. Earlier this week, CMT announced the all-new Trending Comeback Song of the Year category, aiming to honor iconic country artists and hit songs that “not only stood the test of time but also recently found new popularity.” See the full list of nominees here.
