Reese Witherspoon is celebrating her 46th birthday, and Kelsea Ballerini took to her social media channels to share some adorable selfies and a message to the award-winning actress. Ballerini wrote: “you’re easy to celebrate, [Reese Witherspoon]. happy birthday sister 👯♀️🥂💕”
Fans and followers flooded the comments with “happy birthday” wishes to Witherspoon, and gushed over how much she and the “half of my hometown” singer look alike. The dynamic duo previously shared photos and videos together, including when they delivered an iconic line from Witherspoon’s 2002 film, Sweet Home Alabama. On TikTok, Ballerini began the line: “You can take the girl out of the honky tonk…” Witherspoon, of course, responds: “…but you can’t take the honky tonk out of the girl.” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” played in the background and Ballerini captioned the TikTok, “truer words have never been spoken.”
Ballerini and Witherspoon also sat down to talk about Ballerini’s debut book of poetry, Feel Your Way Through. At that time, Witherspoon applauded the collection as a “beautiful, amazing book of poetry that you have written,” she said. “I feel like your heart and soul is in these pages.” Ballerini also revealed at the time that she “really had to not write music while I wrote this book,” finding it difficult to overlap songwriting and poetry writing. But as she worked on her next record, “ I’ve found that a couple of (the poems) have inspired a couple of the songs.”
