Granger Smith just wrapped up filming a movie, and although he hasn’t shared much about it yet, the country artist took to social media to reveal new details. Smith reflected his time in Blanco, Texas, using “a completely different side of my creative brain” as he worked on the movie with the cast and crew. He captioned a photo on Instagram:
“It’s about a country singer who lost his wife and struggles to find purpose, redemption, forgiveness, embrace fatherhood, faith and ultimately the ability to love again. I remember getting this script back in Nov and I read the entire thing in one sitting on the porch swing. It’s special. I’ve never acted in this way, but I fell in love with the character and knew that I had to do it…or at least give it my best shot.”
Smith shared the details when he posted a photo with the movie’s director and writer. The “If The Boot Fits” singer admitted that he didn’t always feel confident when the director told him “You got this,” but he always trusted her. “I’ll circle back when we get closer to a release date later this year,” Smith promised.”In the meantime, I’m writing like crazy for the soundtrack named after the title: Moonrise.” See his Instagram post here:
