Tim McGraw Says Women Are 'Still An Enigma' To Him

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill tied the knot more than 25 years ago, and they’ve been a power couple ever since. The two beloved country artists recently became empty nesters after their three adult daughters — hailed as “strong-willed” women by McGraw — moved out.

Still, McGraw says rather than gaining understanding of women, they’re “still an enigma” to him… and that’s OK. He explained, in a statement shared by his record label: “I have learned absolutely nothin’. It’s still an enigma for me, women. There’s no hope, and I think that’s the beauty of it. They’re the most complicated and beautiful things in the world.”

The “7500 OBO” artist has been constantly surrounded by strong women, even growing up. McGraw recently quipped on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he’s “never right about anything” in the female-dominated household. He also recently explained that the bond he has with each of his daughters (GracieMaggie and Audrey) even translates to his relationship with his on-screen daughter in the hit Paramount+ series, 1883: “We’ve taught our girls from the very beginning to be strong-willed. And sometimes that’s backfired on me, to have four women in my house who are very strong-willed. And so, sometimes dad gets thrown under the bus.” McGraw stars in the Yellowstone prequel with Hill, saying the role is “truly a dream job.”
