Kane Brown takes a somber reflection at the one that got away in his new heartbreak single, “Whiskey Sour.” On the new track, the country hitmaker takes to the bar to drink his whiskey sours alone after splitting from a woman he thought he’d marry:

“So now I take my whiskey sour/ Sitting barside after hours/ Thinking how can I get over if the love was never ours?/ Hell, I know you got my message/ All my Xs and my Os/ And it kills me by the hour/ Now I take my whiskey sours alone”

Brown announced weeks ago that “Whiskey Sour” would be his next release, exclaiming: “I love getting to sing other people’s stories” as he gave fans a taste of the upcoming single. “Whiskey Sour” is the latest on a stream of recent releases from Brown, including “Blessed & Free” — a collaboration with with H.E.R. and the name of his tour — “One Mississippi,” and others. The country artist is also known for his cross-genre collaborations, including “Memory” with blackbear, "One Thing Right" with Marshmello and "Be Like That" with Khalid and Swae Lee, and others.

Aside from new music and upcoming tour dates, Brown recently surprised fans with a special announcement on New Years Day. He and his wife, Katelyn, welcomed their second daughter, Kodi Jane Brown, on December 30. Katelyn previously explained that keeping the pregnancy under wraps was “the best decision I’ve ever made,” and since then, the family has been “soaking in special moments” together, including with new big sister Kingsley Rose, 2.
