Bunnie Xo recently addressed her stepdaughter’s comments about the podcast host’s recent divorce from Jelly Roll.
Jelly Roll, 41, and Bunnie Xo, 46, finalized their divorce earlier this month. The country star’s daughter, Bailee Ann, 18, recently spoke about the divorce in a TikTok livestream. She said, in part, “y’all have no f***ing idea what happened, and wait ’til y’all find out. Because I promise y’all, the view of what y’all have of not only the situation, but their relationship and the internet in totality is about to f***ing crumble the day I open my mouth.”
Bunnie Xo said in a since-deleted response to a commenter: “Nothing to clear up. She didn’t say anything lol ppl just wanna run with a narrative. …Love my baby forever.”
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo met in 2015, and began dating in 2016. They spontaneously got married in August 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They separated on May 9, and the Beautifully Broken artist filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. They finalized their divorce earlier this month. Bunnie Xo addressed the split in an episode of her podcast, Dumb Blonde, which has since been deleted. Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, said during that episode that “nobody cheated.” She opened up about the argument that led to the separation and divorce filing, revealed that she and Jelly Roll still plan to have a baby together amid her ongoing IVF journey, shared that he’s dating again, and more. Bunnie Xo explained, in part, that she removed the episode because “I realized I just don’t want one of the hardest moments of my life to become a permanent headline. I don’t want to live in that, you know? I believe in being transparent with you guys and that’s never, ever, ever going to change. But I also believe that people deserve the space to heal, to evolve and to move forward.”
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, directed people to the Dumb Blonde episode when it was still available. He addressed the divorce on stage and shared a clip of that moment on Instagram. In part, he said “me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth. That will be my best friend forever.”
