Dolly Parton celebrated the grand opening of her first-ever, first-of-its-kind travel stop, which officially opened its doors on Wednesday (June 24) in Cornersville, Tennessee, outside of Nashville.
Parton made a surprise appearance to join Danny Nozell and Gregory H. Sachs for the official ribbon cutting. Hundreds of fans in the community and travelers gathered for the event. Parton said it was âa great idea,â to team up with Sachs to open Dollyâs Tennessean Travel Stop âbecause Iâve spent my whole life traveling on the road.â She jokingly added, for anyone wondering why she wants to open a travel stop, âI couldnât leave it to beavers. I had to throw my squirrelly little self in there,â she said as the crowd laughed. âWeâre not trying to compete with anybody. We donât think weâll have to. We think weâre gonna have everything that you want or need. So, thank you so much for coming.â

Dollyâs Tennessean Travel Stop includes DLY BBQ, her new Cup of Ambition coffee, a dog park, vibrant artwork and much more. The new destination brings a âwelcoming atmosphere designed to make every traveler feel at home,â states a press release issued Wednesday evening. The grand opening marked the start of planned festivities, which include live music, giveaways, surprises and more, plus the âgrand finale,â a fireworks display on July 3.
