Russell Dickerson reunited with the Jonas Brothers after they collaborated on a remix version of his viral single, “Happen To Me.”

Dickerson appeared on a new episode of the trio’s newly-launched podcast, Hey Jonas, on Tuesday (June 16). It marked the country hitmaker’s latest reunion with the Jonas Brothers — made up of Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas — after surprise onstage moments and a viral TikTok dance. Kevin said, “you even got us to dance, which is a lot.”

“I could tell you guys, it was like a little uncomfortable to shake the hips that much,” Dickerson admitted.

Kevin said that although Dickerson often dances, “it’s something that we had to get comfortable with.

“You had to get comfortable with,” Joe jumped in. “These hips don’t lie.”

“Mine do, for sure,” Nick replied.

Dickerson released “Happen To Me,” which includes a nod to Cyndi Lauper’s timeless 80s hit, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” in 2025. He wrote it with with Chase McGillJessie Jo Dillon and Chris LaCorte, and premiered a Daniella Mason-directed music video to bring it to life. The song appears on Dickerson’s latest studio album, Famous Back Home. The revamped version with the Jonas Brothers arrived in October 2025, capturing “the spirit of that electric night—bridging genres and showcasing a fresh, feel-good sound that celebrates connection, gratitude, and the moments that ‘happen to’ shape us,” states a press release issued at the time.

‘Happen To Me’ is all about dancing through heartbreak,” Dickerson said in a statement. “When we first started writing, I thought, ‘What’s a song that makes every girl want to get up and dance when it plays?’ So we kicked off the chorus with ‘Girls just want to have fun,’ and kept building from there.”
