Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins are celebrating 10 years of marriage on Wednesday (October 12).
The adorable couple met while they were growing up and tied the knot a decade ago, on October 12, 2012. They’ve been going strong ever since. Rhett and Akins have welcomed four daughters into the family — Willa Gray (6), Ada James (5), Lennon Love (2), and Lillie Carolina, nearly 1 — and are marking the 10-year anniversary with a two-night getaway (Rhett shared on Tuesday, October 11, that on the first day he and his wife had tacos at 11:30 a.m.).
Rhett has shared heartwarming tributes to Akins, including in his music and on social media. On Mother’s Day, he wrote: “You truly are part angel, part woman. I thank God everyday you chose to spend your life with me. You are the best momma our kids could ever ask for. Having 4 little ones is no joke and you do it with such patience, love and grace. It’s inspiring. I hope that today you feel peace, relaxation and the bliss of a good margarita! I love you so much babe!”
Last year, Rhett shared a throwback photo as he wrote a 9-year anniversary tribute to Akins. The snapshot was taken in 2011, and “I knew from this one night that we were gonna get married and grow old together. …I can’t wait to see what the next 50 years has to hold for us.” Akins has posted heartwarming tributes of her own, saying that she’s “so grateful for this life with you and our babies.” She also celebrated Rhett’s birthday and album release earlier this year: “YOU ARE THE BEST THING IN OUR LIFE🥰 and we are SO proud of you!!!” Her caption was lovingly signed: “Laur, Willa Gray, Ada James, Lennon, Lillie, Kona & Cash 💗🐾”
