Keith Urban surprised the entire audience during his tour stop in Nashville, Tennessee, bringing out a few special guests throughout the show at Bridgestone Arena. The crowd erupted in cheers when Urban introduced Luke Combs, and the two country hitmakers revealed a “fun fact” about their wives when they shared the stage together.
Urban pointed out that Combs’ wife, Nicole, is named after his own wife, award-winning actress Nicole Kidman. “That is true,” Combs said into the mic as Urban pointed out the connection. Urban also credited Combs with taking the time to perform at Bridgestone Arena that night, noting that it was the “Doin’ This” singer’s weekend off, amid his own performance dates.
Nicole Combs opted to stay home that night, caring for the couple’s son Tex Lawrence Combs, their firstborn child they welcomed in June. She shared Urban’s Instagram reel — a nearly 3-minute clip that included a few highlights from Combs’ onstage surprise — on her Instagram story on Tuesday (October 11): “A fun fact about my name is in this video,” she wrote.
Combs surprised the audience as part of a “running theme” for Urban’s Nashville show: “BROADWAY TO THE BIG TIME.” Urban explained that “our special guests for the evening highlighted that journey, representing those playing on Lower Broadway right now, night after night, to those headlining Nissan stadium.
“[Luke Combs] thank you sooooo much for coming out to sing a couple of songs with us on your weekend off !!! We love ya,” Urban wrote in his caption. He shared a few other highlights from the Nashville show, including a clip of local singer Kayley Green, who regularly performs at The Stage on Nashville’s Lower Broadway.
