Old Dominion is marking a five-year milestone. The band released one of their biggest hit songs, “Written in the Sand,” in 2017, and since then, it’s become a fan-favorite everywhere. Old Dominion shared a video on their social media channels on Thursday (July 7), reflecting on some of their most memorable performances:

“Five years ago we put out this song, and y'all have given it one hell of a life. It's a dream come true to make music that connects with others, so thank you for letting us do what we love every day. Here's to the next 5 years!”

Old Dominion included the song on their 2017 album, Happy Endings. The 12-track collection included some of the band’s most well-known songs, including “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart” and “Hotel Key,” among others. “Written in the Sand” sees the singer question whether a girlfriend is invested in a long-term relationship amid mixed signals:

“Are we just a backseat, tryna get it while we can?/ Are we names in a tattoo, or just a number on a hand?/ Are we last-call kissing or will we be reminiscing/ With each other for the next forty years?/ Are we written in the stars, baby, or are we written in the sand?”

Since releasing Happy Endings, Old Dominion has dropped their 15-track self-titled album in 2019 and Time, Tequila & Therapy last year, among other projects. Listen to “Written in the Sand” again here:
