Lady A wastes no time getting into the right mindset for summer.
The beloved country trio kicked off the first official day of the season with a new song, “Summer State of Mind,” on Tuesday (June 21). The official release comes shortly after Lady A performed the song live for the first time at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest earlier this month in Nashville, Tennessee.
The band — Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood — has also teased “Summer State of Mind” a few times on their social media channels, sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos on Instagram as they prepared to debut the song. Even though they didn’t know exactly what was coming yet, fans commented on Lady A’s teasers, loving the vibrant colors and fun, summery vibes as they awaited new music.
“Fresh start to summer today and fresh new music out today too!! #SummerStateOfMind is bringing the heat,” Lady A shared on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Our new song, ‘Summer State of Mind,’ is all about the person you love in your life helping you come out of the cold,” Scott added in a statement shared by the group's record label. “No matter what time of year it is, it’s all about just feelin’ warm and cozy and ready for summer.”
Scott teamed up with Haywood, Sam Ellis and Laura Veltz to write “Summer State of Mind,” which is set to serve as the perfect summer anthem. Listen to Lady A’s latest release here:
