It’s a big day for Carrie Underwood fans as the country star releases her long-awaited new music, and it turns out, Underwood is just as excited as her fans. Underwood took to her social media channels on Friday (March 18), the same day she debuted “Ghost Story,” to share her reaction to hearing her latest single on the radio for the first time.

The 37-second clip shows Underwood behind the wheel of a parked car, shouting out the “first time I’m hearing my song on iHeartRadio! Sounds good!” Underwood drums her hands on the wheel and mouths along with the words, turning the volume up as she celebrates her latest release on the radio.

Underwood released her latest “revenge” anthem, “Ghost Story,” after teasing fans for weeks that something was coming. She describes it as “a really powerful revenge song… But this time instead of smashing his headlights with a baseball bat, she’s just going to haunt his every waking moment. She’s not just the one that got away, but she’s the one that he cannot forget.”

Underwood is one of many artists included in the star-studded lineup at the iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One, set for May 7 in Austin, Texas. Fans can tune in and stream the 2022 iHeartCountry Festival on iHeartMedia's Country music radio stations in local markets across the country, as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio app on May 7th at 8pm ET/5pm PT (7pm CT). Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.
