Chris Young Debuts Emotional New 'Drowning' Video

Chris Young just debuted the video for his current single, "Drowning." The deeply personal song written by Young himself alongside Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, was inspired by the loss of the country singer's close friend, Adam Carnes.

"I've been so amazed at the reaction to this song," Young says. "I wrote it with two friends as a moment of healing and had no idea it would touch so many people before it was even chosen as a single. The video, combining so many personal moments alongside a live performance, totally embodies that, and I can't wait for everyone to see it."

The video, directed by Young alongside Jeff Johnson, was filmed in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at his first headlining show since Route 91 Harvest Festival. When he performed "Drowning" during the show, the crowd held up their phones to light up the arena in honor of the victims and survivors of the tragic shooting.

"Drowning" follows up Young's recent hit single, "Raised On Country." The heartfelt track will be featured on Young's forthcoming album. The new record is expected to have several exciting collaborations, featuring artists like Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina.

"I've [also] got a collab with Brad Paisley and Riley Green on the record," Young shared with The Boot. "So, lots of stuff for people to dig into. I don't wanna give too much away as far as titles and stuff, but I'm really pumped for people to hear it."
