Billboard Music Awards: Sam Hunt, Maren Morris Win Big

Country music didn’t get lost in the shuffle in Las Vegas Sunday night at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards

During an awards show that featured performances from Shawn Mendes, BTS, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato and more, a slew of country talent shared the spotlight and took home big wins.

Chris Stapleton, while he wasn’t in attendance, nabbed the most country wins of the night, claiming Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album for From A Room: Volume 1

Maren Morris, who performed “The Middle” alongside Zedd and Grey for the first time on live television, won Top Country Female Artist, while Sam Hunt snagged Top Country Song for “Body Like a Back Road.” 

Other winners from the country categories included Luke Bryan (Top Country Tour) and Florida Georgia Line (Top Country Duo/Group Artist), both of whom were not in attendance.

Brett Young, Luke Combs and former country star Taylor Swift were also spotted in the audience throughout the show. 

Kelly Clarkson hosted the BBMAs from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas.
